The Codington County Sheriff's Office reports that at approximately 10:36 am on Friday, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a vehicle submerged in a slough at 445th Ave and 175th St.
Codington County Search and Rescue was called to assist with getting to the vehicle.
Upon Arrival and further investigation, the responding deputy was able to contact the owner of the vehicle whom was not on scene of the incident and confirmed there was no injuries.
The driver of the Toyota Prius, Brittnee Buchmann (29), of Rural Hazel drove the vehicle on a road that was underwater and drove out on the ice and broke through the ice, partially submerging the vehicle.
This accident occurred earlier in the week was not reported to Law Enforcement until today. No injuries were reported.
The incident is being investigated by Codington County Sheriff’s Office.
Performance Towing and Codington County Search and Rescue are assisting in the recovery of the vehicle.
