The weather this year has proven to make the Highway 212 project a challenge for crews and now that colder weather is here construction crews are still battling the elements as they work for finish the project.
Bryce Olson is the project engineer from the South Dakota Department of transportation, and he says work is continuing and crews are now getting close to pouring the concrete west of Broadway.
Olson says they hope to have the 212 bridge done before the end of the year.
The $10.3 million project is constructing 1 mile of Highway 212 from Highway 20 to Highway 81. Olson says the department of transportation is continuing to hold public meetings for the project on Thursdays at 10 AM at the Watertown Police Department located on N. Maple St. in Watertown.
