A Watertown woman was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash Saturday night about 9:55pm on I-35 at 66th Street in Richfield, Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Nissan Murano was travelling south on Northbound I-35 when it collided with a GMC Terrain.  According to investigators, the Murano was driving the wrong way on I-35 at the time of the collision.   

The wrong way driver, Alfredo Torres, 21 of St. Paul was killed.

Also killed in the crash were Briana M. Vasquez, 25 of Watertown, SD and passengers Hassan Abdulmalik, 28 of Bloomington, Minnesota and Tyler Fried, 27 of Yankton, SD. 

A third passenger in the Terrain, 25-year-old, Alaura Fried, of Lakeville, Minnesota was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

The State Patrol says the investigation will include a crash reconstruction, which should be able to provide additional answers about how the Murano got on the wrong side of the freeway.
