The South Dakota Highway Patrol says one man died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash north of Vermillion.
According to Tony Mangan of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, a 1999 Grand Jeep Cherokee was southbound on South Dakota Highway 19 when the driver lost control the vehicle.
The vehicle entered the east ditch. The 27-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is not releasing the identity of the driver as this time.
The investigation into the crash is on-going currently by the Highway Patrol.
