Jason Ravnsborg

State officials held a news conference in Sioux Falls today (Tuesday) to update information into the fatal car – pedestrian accident involving South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg. Department of Public Safety Secretary Craig Price says its been an active investigation since the start.....

Ravnsborg found the body of 55-year-old Joe Boever (beaver) in a ditch just west of Highmore on Highway 14 the morning after he reported hitting a deer in that area. Price says they will release more information later.....

Price says this accident has more variables than most....

Price said they have received a preliminary autopsy from Ramsey County Minnesota showing Boever died from injuries sustained in the crash....

In the 9-1-1 audio obtained from the Department of Public Safety, Ravnsborg says he isn’t sure what he hit.....

During the 9-1-1 call the dispatcher asks Ravnsborg is he is okay, which he replied he is.  He then said that whatever he hit was in the roadway and smashed his car.....

Ravnborg told the dispatcher that he was driving his personal car at the time of the accident.  Toxicology reports from the Ravnsborg the afternoon following the crash show negative drug and alcohol results.

Governor Kristi Noem says everyone should wait until the investigation is complete......

Noem says she has not communicated with the Attorney General since the accident.
