Watertown, SD -- Lake Kampeska Water levels at Watertown have risen 13 inches since last Thursday and the lake is expected to rise antoher two inches before dropping again. That’s the assessment of Roger Foote who is the Project Director for the Upper Big Sioux River Project. Foote, who checks the water levels and quality on both Lakes Kampeska and Pelican says that prediction is barring any additional rain.
He cautions lake residents to be aware of the changing lake conditions on both lakes.
Foote said they're issuing an algae alert for Lake Kampeska this week. In the meantime he encourages boaters to adhere to a 50 yard no wake zone until water levels begin to recede.
