June is designated a “Move Over Month” in South Dakota to honor Watertown tow operator Dale Jones who was struck and killed by a passing motorist while performing his job on 20th Avenue South in Watertown on January 4th, 2020.  Today, Law Enforcement officials from the area have teamed up to conduct a saturation patrol focusing on South Dakota's Move Over Law.

Deuel County Sheriff Cory Borg was one of a few area responders that worked with South Dakota Legislators to enact  changes to the South Dakota Law following the death of Jones.  Sheriff Borg explained…..

Borg said today would have been Dale’s 49th birthday and it’s fitting to honor him by performing the saturation patrol…..

Drivers failing to “Move Over” for stopped emergency vehicles will be issued a $270 ticket.
