On Tuesday, 50 new coronavirus cases were announced by the South Dakota Department of Health, bringing the state's total case count to 9,713. Statewide, the amount of active cases decreased by 86 since Monday’s case count of 1,146.
The Department of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday, leaving the statewide count at 146 since the pandemic began.
There is one new COVID-19 case in Codington County on Tuesday, bringing the total case count in the county to 138. 109 of those cases have recovered the pandemic began in March. 10 people had been hospitalized in the county with the virus. There are currently 29 active cases, down one case from Monday.
Regionally, both Clark and Day Counties have two active cases. Deuel County has three, Grant County has seven, Hamlin County has eight and Roberts County has 11 active cases.
