The South Dakota Department of Health reports 876 new cases today. (Wednesday) That number sets a one-day record for the most cases in one day ever announced by the department of health. 

The death toll in South Dakota rose to 291. The three new deaths included two men and one woman with two deaths listed in the 80+ age range and one the 70-79 age range.

One of those deaths occurred in Codington County bringing our death total to ten.

Codington County saw 28 new cases on Wednesday bringing the total case count to 1,151.  Of those cases, 940 have recovered and 201 remain active.  There are currently seven patients hospitalized in the county. 78 people have been hospitalized throughout the pandemic.
