At 11:47PM Wednesday night, the Codington County Sheriff's Deputies attempted a traffic stop on two vehicles that they say were traveling at over 100 mph on 164th street near Sioux Conifer Road in Watertown.
The two vehicles, a dark colored 4 door sedan, and a white pickup did not stop when the deputy activated their red and blue lights. The deputy initiated a pursuit and then received information that the two vehicles were wanted in connection with suspicious activity that had occurred on NW Watertown.
After a short distance, the white pickup came to a stop while the dark colored sedan continued to flee from the deputy.
According to officials, the pickup was occupied by two juvenile males. During the investigation, it was discovered that the pickup was stolen from a residence in Watertown. The investigation has determined that the juveniles had broken into six or more vehicles during the evening.
Both juveniles were arrested and taken to the Codington County Detention Center.
One juvenile has been charged with Grand Theft of a motor vehicle, criminal entry into a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen property, aggravated eluding, reckless driving, stop sign violation, speeding, and no driver's license.
The other juvenile has been charged with Grand Theft of a motor vehicle, criminal entry into a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property. It is believed the dark colored sedan is involved in the other matter. The suspects were possibly in the area of serenity drive.
