Stokes Thomas City Park

Seeing groups of young adults congregating at various parking lots throughout the city is nothing unusual. Most of us probably don't even take a second glance. However, their presence at Stokes-Thomas City Park has drawn the attention of those who live in the area as well as campers and those who utilize the boardwalk. It has now also drawn the attention of Watertown city officials.  Large groups of young people have begun congregating around the boardwalk area within the park on a daily basis. Some residents say they have been confronted verbally and some believing that could even be physically assaulted while walking through the area has left many who frequent the park nervous

Mayor Sarah Caron said they are aware of the situation......

The Mayor said that the group is made up mostly of young adults.....

Caron said you can expect to see more police presence at the park to address the issue......
