The South Dakota Department of Health reported an additional four cases of COVID 19 in Codington County on Sunday. That brings the total case count since the pandemic began in March to 133. 107 of those cases have recovered. Codington County, as of Sunday afternoon, had 26 active cases that have not yet recovered. There have been 2,805 negative tests performed and one death in the county.
The Department of Health reported 129 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the state total of active cases to 1,125. The death toll reach 146 on Saturday, up two from Friday. No new deaths were reported on Sunday.
There are currently 55 patients hospitalized statewide with COVID-19. The Department of Health also reports that 5% of the state's available ventilators are being utilized by COVID-19 patients, 12% are being occupied by Non-COVID patients. 83% of the state's available ventilators remain available.
Regionally, Clark County has two active cases. Deuel County has three active cases. Roberts County has 16 active cases. Clark County and Day County both have two active cases and Hamlin County has seven active cases.
