The South Dakota Department of Health on Tuesday released the latest numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state which included two new deaths bringing the state's total now to 46. State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton..... 

Those 58 new positive cases of COVID-19 bring South Dakota's total cases to 4,085.  Active case numbers decreased to 1125. That is 74 fewer cases than on Monday.  KXLG news has learned of an exposure at the Big Stone Cheese Plant in Big Stone City, SD.  Dr. Clayton was asked about the details regarding the exposure...... 

Clayton did not say how many cases have come from the plant.  However, he did say that Department of Health officials are continuing to work with the staff to prevent future exposures and also to focus on testing. Big Stone City is in Grant County, which currently has nine cases, three have recovered.  

Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysden says her office continues to work with nursing homes throughout the state. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, Codington County remained at 17 cases, 15 have recovered.  Clark County has four positive cases, one recovered.  Day County has 11 positive cases, nine recovered. Hamlin County has three positive cases, two have recovered. Roberts now has 20 cases, 12 have recovered.
