Serenity Hills Rendering

Potential Rendering of the new Serenity Hills

Dusty Johnson stopped in Watertown today and one stop was to tour the Human Service Agency. KXLG was present for the tour and CEO Kari Johnston’s presentation.

Earlier she had also made the presentation at today’s County Commissioners meeting to educate them about their upcoming large construction project of the new Serenity Hills. It will be located behind the current Human Service Agency Building. You can see some of the construction has already begun.

We reached out to Kari to get more information on their project needs.

Kari explains why they are in need of a new facility…

They applied for an RFP…

This new facility will save the County and City money…

In this new facility they will be able to have four beds instead of just the one they currently have in the “safe room”…

Kari explains what their current expense budget is…

So far they have secured funding from the Division of Behavioral Health for an estimated $3.5 million, Human Service Agency Foundation for $600,000, the Watertown Area Community Foundation for $300,000, and First Premier Bank/Premier Bankcard for $50,000. They still have a long way to go and will be doing fundraising throughout the building process.

In the full interview we discussed Representative Dusty Johnson’s visit, how much this will expand the help they can provide, and Kari thanking those involved.

Be sure to look through the attached PowerPoint for more detailed information and potential renderings of the completed building. Below is the attachment and the full interview with Kari.
