Last night was the official kick-off for the United Way fundraising season. Local business leaders and supporters gathered at Montgomery’s to celebrate! KXLG spoke with Laura Hoiten, Executive Director of the United Way.

The Lake Area Zoological Society is one of the agencies that United Way helps fund. We talked with Patty from Bramble Park Zoo about what United Way means to them:

Laura introduced this year's board president:

Brock mentioned that the new agency this year to be part of United Way is the Glacial Lakes Multi-Cultural Center. The co-chairs are Sean and Kristi Melmer, and both have been involved with United Way in different capacities. You will also notice new United Way goal signs going up around town. Even though the goal seems big, somehow, Watertown always comes through and helps United Way reach its goals. For more information on how to help or donate, visit their website at or call 886-5815.
