Pierre, SD -- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem says she knows the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is wearing on people.
The coronavirus was first noted in the region in February and didn’t surge until this fall. Noem says her opposition to a face mask mandate and other restrictions did not contribute to the rising rate.
Noem disagrees that South Dakota has been tagged as the worst hot spot in the country.
The state Department of Health reports the positive test rate for the past two weeks was just over nineteen percent.
