In a Tuesday afternoon press conference, Governor Kristi Noem says two more people have tested positive in South Dakota. Those individuals live in Brookings and Beadle County. She said two other patients in the state have now fully recovered….
The Governor says she remains in contact with federal officials and the backlog of testing could soon be coming to an end…..
Governor Noem signed an executive order on Tuesday allowing state employees to continue working from home. She also had a large amount of praise for School Districts across the state and also directed schools to not reopen until at least May 1st……
Kim Malsom-Rysden of the South Dakota Department of Health says a female inmate who tested positive for COVID-19 at the State Women’s Prison in Pierre is doing well…..
The woman in prison generated a great deal of discussion during the press conference, because earlier in the day it was announced nine inmates from the prison escaped on Monday night.
One inmate was recaptured; the remaining eight are still at large. According to Malsom-Rysden, the escaped inmates were in the same unit as the woman who has tested positive……
As of Today there are 30 positive cases of COVID-19 cases in South Dakota. One of those cases is here in Codington County.
