SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Governor Kristi Noem is expanding the annual Governor's Pheasant Hunt and moving it to Sioux Falls is exciting news for the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
"This is exactly the type of thing we like to engage in, in support of the Governor and her administration's efforts to grow this economy," says Chamber Head, Jason Ball.
Noem says moving the annual event from Pierre to Sioux Falls will turn it into a national showcase for South Dakota's business opportunities. Ball says Sioux Falls is already a national showcase and this new event will just add to it.
Ball is looking forward to all the business leaders who will come to town.
"Drive those folks out to buildings, or facilities, or engage with workforce and education leadership to demonstrate that we have the capability to be a great location for their businesses."
Ball says Sioux Falls' great interstate location and airport connections make it a good choice for the Governor's plans for an expanded event.
Noem's dramatic change begins in the fall of 2020. Ball says he is interested in hearing more details and how the Sioux Falls area business community can get behind it.
The 2019 Governor’s Hunt will be based out of Pierre.
