Watertown, SD -- Governor Kristi Noem’s Second Century Initiative to Enhance South Dakota pheasant hunting may get an additional lift with the start up of a new Pheasants Forever Chapter at Watertown. An organizational meeting will be held June 25th at the Watertown Brewing Company to measure the interest in starting a Pheasants Forever Chapter at Watertown. Erica Yost, who is the Pheasants Forever’s regional representative for South Dakota, is leading the effort with some local help. She says the organizational meeting at the Watertown Brewing Company is billed as “Hops For Habitat” and begin at 6:30 p.m.
Yost says that Pheasants Forever strives to put habitat in the ground, get youth and adults outdoors, and create new conservationists and hunters.
Eric Magadenz is a local biologist who works with property owners to restore habitat on their property.
There are currently 32 Pheasants Forever chapters in South Dakota. The Watertown Brewing Company is located on Kemp Avenue in downtown Watertown.
