Dale Jones Parkway

This month has been designated by the South Dakota Legislature as "Move Over Month" in South Dakota. The idea began after Watertown tow operator Dale Jones was struck and killed by a passing motorist while performing his job on January 4th of this year.  The South truck By-pass in Watertown has been renamed the Dale Jones Memorial Parkway in his memory. Watertown Firefighter/ Paramedic Chris Noeldner says the when they respond their main concern is their patient and control of their scene, so worrying about traffic is an added concern the don’t want to be distracted with oncoming traffic... 

Deuel County Sheriff Cory Borg says the legislature has changed the law...... 

District 4 Senator John Wiik was the prime sponsor of the legislation dealing with the new move over law.....
