The major winter storm is still on track to bring a mix of wintery precipitation and wind to much of the northern plains. Mike Fuhs at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says they expect the storm to move in overnight.

Fuhs says warm air aloft may mean a round of rain and freezing rain as the storm approaches. Here in Northeast South Dakota and Western Minnesota A dense fog advisory is in effect today. There are also scattered slippery areas on the highways. There is the potential for a few inches of snow late Saturday into Sunday, however if the storm continues trending South little to no precipitation is expected.
