Monday was Memorial Day, a day set aside to honor the men and women who have died in the service to our country and to those we have lost during the past year. In a special Memorial Day ceremony, sponsored by the Watertown American Legion Post 17 and held at Mount Hope Ceremony, the names of 52 veterans who have died during this past year were read aloud.
Lieutenant Justin Allbee of the South Dakota National Guard was the featured speaker this year. Allbee was named the John J. Steele Lieutenant of the Year for the South Dakota National Guard in 2020. Lt. Allbee said the last day in May is a fitting day to pay tribute…..
