The recently released National Climate Assessment also focused on sections of the country, including the northern plains. Dennis Todey, who heads up the Midwest Climate Hub (in Ames Iowa) says there have already been some visible climate impacts.
Todey says there have been adjustments to increases in rain and snow across the region.
Todey says there will also be ongoing challenges for livestock production.
The assessment says the region will see more extremes, from drought to flood to cold spells to more ninety plus degree days.
