Authorities have released the names of four people who died Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash west of Wagner. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 2003 Chrysler Sebring driven by 31-year-old Agnes Drapeaux of Mitchell, SD was southbound on Highway 50 when she failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 46.
The Sebring collided with a westbound 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Lynette Ashes, 64, of Wagner, SD. The Sebring went into the south ditch and stared in fire. Both drivers suffered fatal injuries.
Two passengers in the Sebring, Michaela Rainbow, 28 of Lake Andes, SD and Milton LaRose, 33 of Omaha, NE were transported to the Wagner hospital where they were pronounced dead.
A fourth passenger, Lawrence Thunder Horse, 27 of Lake Andes, suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries. He was flown to a Sioux Falls Hospital. The Highway Patrol says none of people involved in the crash appeared to be wearing seat belts.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
