The South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed 27 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s total to 6,353. No new cases were reported in Codington County.
Health officials reported two additional virus-related deaths, raising the death toll to 83.
The two new deaths were listed as in the 80+ age range and 70-79 age range. One new death was male and one female. One was in Minnehaha County and one was in Pennington County.
Minnehaha County now has 54 deaths, the most in South Dakota. Pennington County is at 11 deaths.
The state’s health department said 60 more people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, brings the recovery number to 5,497.
There are 773 active cases of the coronavirus in South Dakota.
DOH reported a total of 624 hospitalizations and 85 of them are currently hospitalized.
Out of the 73,986 tests performed, 67,633, or 91% of them, came back negative.
Regionally, Codington County remained at 49 cases with 43 cases recovered. Clark County has 12 cases, with 10 now recovered. Day County remains at 13 cases today, all 13 cases have recovered. Hamlin County has 11 cases with nine recovered. Roberts County has 40 cases, 37 of them have recovered.
