Governor Krisit Noem

A federal bill that's been introduced would allow state and local government to use the $150 billion dollars that congress has already approved for corona-virus response for general operating expenses and remove the expiration date on the funds.  Governor Noem took time during her press conference on Thursday afternoon to address the revenue issue in South Dakota.  She said that federal discussions continue....

Noem says the federal dollars need to be dispersed to cities and counties across South Dakota to help them with their losses.....

The Governor reminded local governments that it's important for them to continue tracking COVID-19 related expenses such as the purchase of personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies, testing supplies and equipment that might be necessary for tele-medicine.

The Governor said it's a delicate balancing act in tracking the cost associated with COVID-19 and preserving as much of the federal dollars as possible for use as revenue replacement.....
