Police have arrested 45-year-old James Jumping Eagle of Rapid City in connection with the Homicide of Reta McGovern.
The 82 Year-old woman was found dead inside her Rapid City home on February 10th. Investigators say evidence recovered during the homicide investigation has connected Jumping Eagle to the scene of the murder.
On Saturday, Rapid City Police posted on their Facebook page that Jumping Eagle had been apprehended. Rapid City Police Chief, Don Hedrick said, “The RCPD applauds the work of the OST Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Marshals Service for helping us bring Jumping Eagle to justice. I am proud of the hard work and dedication of the Rapid City and Pennington County Investigations Team. The collective Sympathies of the RECPD go out to the family and friends of Ms. McGovern amid this tragic event.”
