The Watertown School board approved a CARES Payroll supplement package at Monday’s meeting.  The federal dollars will be directed to the nearly 700 members of both the Watertown K-12 and Lake Area Technical College staff.  Dr. Danielsen says the K-14 staff is on the front line every day and that it’s only appropriate they be rewarded for their efforts......

Dr.  Danielsen said the payroll supplement will be paid with 735 thousand dollars in Federal Care dollars or 42 percent of the district’s initial grant funding of 1.7 million that was provided on the K-12 side.  An additional 255,000 dollars would be directed to Lake Area Technical College Staff.  The request was approved unanimously. He also reminded Watertown School District families that free meals are still available at breakfast and noon for all students in the district until the federal funding runs out.  It’s projected it will last at least through the end of the year. The Say-Dee’s (SADIES) dance has also been postponed until October 31st.  Board president Stephanie Lenards also reported the recent Arrow Foundation Harvest netted 100,000 dollars for the organization this fall.  Also recognized for his many years of service to the foundation was Dan Albertsen who is retiring this year.
