The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 48 year-old, Lamont Walker of Sioux Falls, for his involvement in the murder of 22-year-old, Saivaughn Carlstrom, of Sioux Falls, over the weekend. Carlstrom’s body was located by a Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Deputy who was on patrol and observed a burning road ditch shortly after 5:00 Saturday morning. The deputy got out of his patrol car to inspect the fire and located the burning body of Saivaughn laying on the side of the road. Minnehaha Sheriff’s Captain Josh Phillips said investigators still have a lot to do in relation to the case…..
According to the arrest warrant affidavit for Walker, a female acquaintance of the men said Lamont had driven Saivaughn and her around Sioux Falls where they attempted to commit at least one robbery. Lamont then drove them into the county where Saivaughn was forced out of the car on a gravel road. An altercation took place between the two men resulting in Walker shooting Saivaughn in the head and killing him. The female was then kidnapped by Lamont and taken to a Sioux Falls residence where she was rescued by the Sioux Falls SWAT team after they received a tip about her location. The woman told police that Walker had plans to take her to Atlanta and use her for sex trafficking.
Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead praised the interagency efforts of the Sioux Falls Police Department, Minnehaha County Sheriff and Metro Communications as they continue to work the case...
