Sounds of the Season will be performed on Sunday, Dec. 9 at First United Methodist Church, 4 2nd Ave. SE, Watertown. Two performances are set for 3 pm and 7 pm. Featured groups will be the Glacial Lakes Harmonizers; the First United Methodist Bell Choir; the 53-voice Community Choir; Dolce Diva, a women’s vocal group; and Strings Noel, a string quartet. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations of non-perishable food items or cash will be given to the Salvation Army food pantry.
The concert will feature traditional Christmas carols and secular seasonal songs, performed by talented local musicians. Prelude music featuring piano duets will be provided by Mary Engebretson and Elaine Vanderlaan. Audience members will be invited to sing familiar carols.
The 53-voice Community Choir will sing three pieces, directed by two local church choir directors. This ecumenical choir is in its fourth year and consists of singers from 14 Watertown and area churches.
Attendance at last years’ two concerts was over 1000; over $1600 was given to Salvation Army’s food pantry, in addition to a truck full of food donations. Don’t miss Sounds of the Season, next Sun. Dec. 9, 3 pm or 7 pm.
