The South Dakota Department of Health announced 1,050 new COVID-19 infections statewide in Friday and 31 new deaths. The state death toll is now 1,064 with 118 of those deaths reported during the first four days of December.
The state has a total of 84,398 total cases of COVID, with 15,925 of those cases listed as active. Hospitalizations dropped by 22 cases to 516.
Codington County reported 48 new positive cases on Friday, bringing the total case count to 2,709. The active case count is 492. There have been 163 patients hospitalized and 55 deaths in the county since the pandemic began.
