The South Dakota Department of Health reported two days worth of numbers on Sunday, due to the New Years Day Holiday on Friday. There were 703 cases of COVID reported on Sunday bringing the state total case count to 100,532.
As of Sunday, there were 93,031 recovered cases in the state. Five Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Eight cases remain active and 262 patients remain hospitalized. The death total in South Dakota is currently 1,513.
Codington County on Sunday added 19 new cases of COVID which bringing the case count to 3,290. Of those, 3,177 have recovered leaving 244 cases active in the county. There have been 70 deaths in the county and 187 hospitalizations.
Prairie Lakes Healthcare in Watertown reported seven patients hospitalized on Sunday.
There have been 26,870 Doses of COVID vaccine administered in the State with 956 of those in Codington County.
