The State of South Dakota saw a high number of COVID related deaths on Wednesday. Twenty-Seven deaths were reported brings the total to 567 since the pandemic began in March. One Hundred Forty-Two of those deaths have occurred since November 1st.
There were 1,362 new cases reported on Wednesday by the Department of Health. They also reported 40,668 cases as recovered, leaving 17,461 cases active.
In Codington County on Wednesday we saw 28 new cases, that is up four from Tuesday. Five Hundred Sixty-One cases remain active. Codington County has now seen 22 COVID related deaths and 122 patients have been hospitalized with the virus.
Prairie Lakes Healthcare currently has 20 COVID-19 patients with two on ventilation. That is down five patients from yesterday.
