Watertown, SD -- Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a single vehicle rollover accident near the intersection of 33rd Street NW and 3rd Ave NW, at approximately 2:00pm Wednesday afternoon, August 4th, 2021. The vehicle involved in the accident was heading northbound on 33rd St when it began to fishtail rolling into the ditch, ejecting both occupants. One of the patients was temporarily pinned under the vehicle, but with the assistance of Medic 3 crew and the Codington County Deputies that individual was removed without the use of extrication equipment. Engine 4 called for another ambulance to treat the other patient. Both relate they were not wearing their seatbelts. Medic 3 and Medic 5 treated and transported both patients to PLH with non life threatening injuries. Watertown Fire was on scene for about one hour. Watertown Fire was assisted by Codington County Deputies, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Performance towing.
