The National Weather Service in Aberdeen says that temperatures will remain cool this week. The Watertown area will see our first frost event Tuesday night, when lows will fall to near freezing levels.  Normally, the Watertown area doesn’t see our first frost until around September 23rd.

Meteorologist James Telken of the National Weather Service says the cooler temperatures are going to stick around for the week....

Areas around Lead and Deadwood have recorded some heavy snowfall amounts as of this morning....

Mount Rushmore saw four inches of snowfall.

Telken says more seasonable temperatures will return this weekend with highs once again reaching the 80’s in northern and central South Dakota and just slightly cooler temperatures forecasted for the Watertown area.
