The Watertown Area United Way kicked off their annual capital campaign on Wednesday night at Montgomery’s furniture in Watertown. The United Way funds over 37 different agencies in the Watertown Area. The organization goes beyond just raising funds for local nonprofits. They serve as a catalyst to encourage nonprofits to collaborate and work together to meet the needs of the Watertown community.

Laura Hoiten is the Executive Director of the United Way and she says this year’s goal is $710,000…..

Montgomery’s Furniture is a big supporter of the United Way.  Eric Sinclair is an owner of Montgomery’s. He says they are proud to support the local programs through the United Way…..

As part of their continued support of the United Way, Montgomery Furniture will once again be offering a $5,000 room makeover to someone who makes the decision to increase their contribution this year.  Another organization that receives United Way funding is the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. This year’s campaign chairs are Troy and SaLena Engels.  SaLena Engels says their family participates in many United Way funded programs….
