Watertown, SD --  The Watertown City Council gave first reading last night to an ordinance that will address dangerous and vicious dogs. A panel has been working over the last year to draft a new city law to better protect the public and animal owners. Matt Roby is the Watertown City Attorney.

Alderwoman Beth Mantey from Ward C, who served on the committee, expanded on Roby’s comments.

Mantey explained why she likes the new ordinance.

The ordinance will get a second reading and vote at the next council meeting.
