Watertown, SD --  Veteran Watertown Police Sgt. Troy VanDusen officially retired last Friday after serving 23 years as a police officer. Watertown Police Chief Lee McPeek and others from the Watertown Police Department and community recognized Troy at a retirement party Friday afternoon. Troy and his family will continue to call Watertown home. Beginning today, Tuesday, Troy will become the News Director at KXLG radio replacing David J. Law who will move to part-time status at the station. Chief McPeek talked about Troy's time as a police officer.

In addition to being a Codington County Commissioner, Troy has also served on numerous boards and committees including the Beacon Center, Avanti Board of Directors, and other county liaison committees. He and his wife Carol have two daughters Megan age 19 and Lauren age 14.
