Watertown, SD -- With the start of school just over a week off on Thursday August 22nd Watertown High School Principal Dr. Michael Butts presented to the School Board last night student data from the last school year. He says the good news is the positive success rate the district experienced with fewer students failing a class.
He says the district has implemented a couple of things to help that along.
They have also taken away any extra credit for things that have nothing to do with the classroom.
The district will be addressing assignments that don’t come in on time.
He says that last year was the best overall attendance for the Watertown School District in the last 12 years.
19 students dropped out of school last year.
