Watertown, SD -- What are the future building and facility needs for the Watertown High School? The school board last night heard from Tom Hurlbert with Co-op Architects who has been working on a master plan for the high school.
He said if the district is going to continue using the building then it’s time to reinvest in the structure.
He says one of the challenges in making upgrades to the high school is keeping it operational while the work is done.
He said it will involve a bit of dance with classroom disruption. He talked about the preliminary costs.
He said the district could also reconfigure it’s stadium by constructing a new football stadium to the north of the school that could seat from 4 to five thousand people easily.
He said the building has a lot of life left in it and the investment would be worth it. No official action was taken last night, however board members will be continuing the discussions.
