This time of the year is a busy one for almost everyone. For many it’s a time to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning on a new one. But for some others this time of the year can be very difficult. Kari Johnston the CEO of the Human Service Agency says that a combination of factors can make this a tough time year for many….
According to Mayoclinic.org, Seasonal Affective Disorder is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons. It begins and ends about the same time every year. If you're like most people with Seasonal Affective Disorder, your symptoms start in the fall and continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody. Less often, it causes depression in the spring or early summer.
Johnston says that if you are suffering there are things that you can do to help get you through the cold winter days and improve your mood…..
If that doesn’t work there are other resources in Watertown that you can reach out too in addition to the Human Service Agency.
Johnston says to give the agency a call if you or someone you know need someone to talk too, and they will help guide you in the right direction. The Human Service Agency Phone number is (605) 886-0123.
