South Dakota’s new anti-methamphetamine campaign entitled, “Meth, We’re On It” has generated a lot of discussion both in and out of state. In fact, it’s generated headlines all across the country. South Dakota Senator Brock Greenfield spoke to KXLG News Tuesday night and he says he doesn’t support the campaign. He says the issue is too important to be rolled out like this……
Senator Greenfield’s comments to KXLG News Tuesday night follow those he made to Craig Price, the head of South Dakota’s Department of Public Safety earlier in the day.
Greenfield explained that the campaign was “distasteful” saying he heard a lot of backlash from people who didn't feel that Methamphetamine addiction should be made into a punchline.
According to the State of South Dakota’s website Opensd.gov the state has paid a Minneapolis Ad Agency over $440,000 for the development and implementation of the ad campaign.
