The Codington County Sheriff's Office responded to 1326 42nd St SW at 10:32am Saturday morning for a report of a fire that had been started in a shed.
The caller was able to provide a description of a person they had seen leaving the shed. A male, who matched the description given by the caller, was detained as he was leaving the area on foot. Upon further investigation it was determined the fire in the shed had been intentionally started.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the fire was extinguished and the building was saved. Davis Duane Bullbear, age 25, of Sioux Falls was arrested for Arson, Burglary, Intentional Damage to Property, and Ingesting Controlled Substance.
Bullbear was transported to the Codington County Detention Center where he was booked in. In addition to these charges he is also being held on and a $5000 warrant out of Iowa for violation of probation. Codington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Watertown Police Department and Watertown Fire Department.
