SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Meta Financial Group Inc. (CASH) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $58 million.
The Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based company said it had net income of $1.84 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.54 per share.
The holding company for Meta Bank posted revenue of $189.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $187.3 million, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $185.8 million.
Meta shares have risen 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $46.49, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
