The Watertown Regional Airport hit another milestone this morning. The 10,000th passenger boarding of the year!
Mayor Sarah Caron made the announcement in the terminal just before the flight to Chicago began boarding.
This is the third year in a row the airport has received the $1 million in entitlements.
Charles Driscoll is from Aberdeen and drove to Watertown to board the flight on his way to Chicago with his wife and daughter. He said the flights to Chicago and Denver are perfect for him.
As the 10,000th passenger, Driscoll received a basket of locally made products from Glacial Lakes Distillery, Watertown Confectionary, Watertown Brewing Company, Dempsey's, Dakota Butcher and $500 in Watertown Chamber Bucks.
Todd Syrhe is the airport manager. He says after receiving a $9 million federal grant last week and now the $1 million entitlements this week its been a good week...
